Play Eilat Hotel
Your Eilat Retreat
First Impressions
Walking into Play Eilat Hotel feels like stumbling into someone’s really cool apartment that just happens to have a reception desk. This boutique hotel doesn’t chase star ratings — honestly, it doesn’t need to. The lobby has this relaxed, almost residential vibe with mismatched furniture that somehow works perfectly together, and you immediately get the sense that this place does things differently.
Location & Getting Around
Tarshish Street isn’t the main tourist drag, which is actually brilliant because you’re still walking distance to everything that matters in Eilat without the constant noise. The beach is maybe a 10-minute stroll, and you can hit the marina or the main shopping area just as easily. What I really appreciate is that you’re close enough to dive into the action but far enough to actually get some sleep at night.
The Room Experience
Each room here has its own personality — I mean that literally. Some have exposed brick, others have these quirky artistic touches that feel intentional rather than trying-too-hard trendy. The beds are surprisingly comfortable, and there’s this attention to lighting that makes the space feel warm rather than clinical. You know what’s refreshing? They didn’t go overboard with minimalism — there are actually places to put your stuff.
Food & Social Spaces
The restaurant downstairs serves breakfast that’s way better than it needs to be for a place this size. They do this Mediterranean-meets-Israeli thing that works, especially the shakshuka (though honestly, it’s hard to mess that up in Israel). The common areas encourage hanging out — there’s usually someone interesting to chat with, whether it’s other travelers or locals who seem to genuinely enjoy spending time here.
Why Guests Love It
This isn’t a place for people who need everything to be predictable and polished. Play Eilat works because it feels authentic in a town that can sometimes feel like it’s performing for tourists. The staff actually seems to care about what you’re doing in Eilat, and they’ll give you the kind of local recommendations that aren’t in every guidebook. It’s the kind of place where you might extend your stay just because you’re comfortable, not because you’re being pampered.

Guest Reviews
Staff are very friendly and helpful, and the location is wonderful! Great value for money!
What could be improved: Not the cleanest hotel I’ve been to, but it’s not too bad. Also breakfast was limited (though we went right before Passover…
Very nice, very helpful staff
The usual services of the hotel are good. The location is good - but not ear the beaches. However, there is a nice swimming pool at the hotel. Breakfast is very good.
What could be improved: the service people, the rooms.
happy with the design and look of hotel. happy with welcoming approach of hotel staff. happy with location - walking distance to boardwalk and attractions. Staff called us when we were on the way and checked on us. showed caring and personal approach.
What could be improved: breakfast on Saturday morning was disappointing - not tasty
The hotel super nice
What could be improved: They forgot all the time to put towels and shampoo and that thing in the room
Staff was very good, friendly and responsive, location and value for money was excellent.
What could be improved: All was good
The location, the size of the room, the staff, the breakfast, the atmosphere
What could be improved: Only stairs leads from sidewalk to the lobby...
Hotel staff was excellent - helped a lot with everything we needed.
What could be improved: The original room we've received had a plumbing issue - but the hotel provided us with another room that was great.
Best location, not crowdy
What could be improved: Gym should be started earlier
These are of course troubled times for Eilat tourism so not many people were at the hotel.. The hotel is really nice, the staff are kind, the hotel is sparkling clean, the breakfast is good, and the location is excellent. I plan to stay there again in the future.
What could be improved: The hotel changed hands recently and a few things still need to be done - safety grip bars in the shower, for example. I needed to ask for a hair dryer - but it was supplied. Likewise capsules for the espresso machine in my room, but I got those as well. Given the wartime conditions, these are minor issues!
