Exodus Hostel & Dive Center
Your Eilat Retreat
First Impressions
The Exodus Hostel & Dive Center isn’t your typical accommodation — it’s one of those places that feels more like stumbling into a local secret than checking into a standard hotel. Located on HaEla Street in Eilat, this unique boutique hotel without official star rating sits just a few blocks from the Red Sea, and honestly, that proximity is everything. You can smell the salt air from the entrance, and there’s this laid-back energy that hits you the moment you walk through the doors.
The Diving Connection
What sets Exodus apart is the dive center integration — it’s not just an add-on service, it’s the heart of the place. The staff actually knows the Red Sea’s underwater landscape like their own backyard, which means you’re getting insider tips on the best dive spots that most tourists never hear about. I mean, having dive gear storage and equipment rental right on-site eliminates all that hassle of coordinating with separate operators. The dive briefings happen right in their common area, creating this community vibe among guests.
Accommodation Style
The rooms here lean more hostel than hotel, but in the best possible way. Each room is clean and functional without unnecessary frills — think comfortable beds, decent air conditioning (crucial in Eilat’s heat), and practical storage for your dive gear. The shared spaces are where this place really shines though. There’s a communal kitchen that’s actually well-equipped, not just some afterthought with a broken microwave and mismatched plates.
Location & Red Sea Access
HaEla Street puts you within walking distance of Eilat’s main beach areas, but you’re removed enough from the touristy chaos around the marina. The coral reefs are literally a five-minute walk away — no need for boat transfers to reach some of the region’s most incredible diving spots. At night, you can hear the gentle waves, which beats the usual hotel soundtrack of traffic and air conditioning units. The neighborhood has this authentic Israeli coastal town feel that you miss when staying in the larger resort complexes.
Why Divers Keep Coming Back
The 9.1 rating makes sense once you understand what Exodus is trying to be. It’s not competing with five-star resorts — it’s creating something different entirely. The dive center connection means early morning boat trips start right from their dock, and evening gear washing happens in dedicated areas designed for exactly that purpose. You end up meeting fellow divers from around the world, sharing stories over simple meals in that communal kitchen. It’s the kind of place where solo travelers feel instantly welcomed, and dive buddies are easy to find.

Guest Reviews
I really enjoyed my 3 nights in the shared room of the hostel. The guy who runs the place is an amazing person: very nice, smart, makes a great conversation and makes you feel at home. The room is clean, comfy and nicely designed with pictures and posters from diving expeditions in Eilat.
I totally recommend to stay in the hostel and I'll come back for sure!!!
What could be improved: I have nothing.
The best place in Eilat with the best staff
Awesome experience!
What could be improved: N/A
Super kind, calm, and genuinely friendly. They shared plenty of great recommendations for diving, snorkeling, and exploring the city. We also spent a lovely evening together—chatting and playing a quiz. Highly recommend this place, and I’d love to come back one day.
What could be improved: nothing, all is good!
Michael is a really helpful and friendly host
Super kind and easygoing staff, great and quiet location
What could be improved: Nothing
great communication, comfortable bed, good air conditioner
amazing value for money
got early checking and a room with the private bathroom :)
Everything is really lovely, clean and the owner is very knowledgeable
What could be improved: There is no parking in the area, only with parking tickets and it needs some renovation. The garden and adding clothes hanging space in the rooms
Good location, nice clean room.
What could be improved: No personal on site
it is a nice very small hostel. It is one bigger room and a smaller room nearby and only six people live at the same time. Everyone has their own bed. the bathroom quite clean and was good lightning. There is a personal light near every bed and there is a way to charge the phone. Bands are comfortable to sleep
What could be improved: there is no way to lock your things entering door opened with a code, which is easy to open if you’ve been there at least once or even like guess the password and then inside there is no way to lock your belongings even if you have a lock itself. There is just no shelf that can be protected, which is not very convenient in terms of like if you’re buying something expensive or having something expensive with you like your laptop or cash or something like that.
There is a big room with four beds and smaller room with two beds when I came the only free bad was in the room with two bads and there was another guy and he said that it’s a problem for him that I will stay there as he will not stay in a night with a girl in the same room and he made me change the the bad with other guy and we were lucky enough that no one slept in the bed yet we came in the same day, but generally, it was weird. Maybe hostel should be more open about placement of a bad so people for whom is important can avoid it.
Is the door in the bathroom can’t be closed unless you shut it which means that every time someone needs to use the bathroom, they shut the door and it wakes up people in a night in early morning any time
