About this stay

Your Eilat Retreat

First Impressions

Walking up to Abraham Eilat on Shfifon Street, you immediately know this isn’t your typical hotel chain. The building has this understated elegance that feels refreshingly different from the flashy resort towers dominating Eilat’s skyline. It’s what I’d call a unique boutique hotel — they don’t chase star ratings because, honestly, they don’t need to prove anything to anyone.

The Neighborhood Feel

What I love about this spot is how it sits away from the tourist chaos but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. Shfifon Street has this quiet residential vibe, which means you actually get some peace when you want it. The beach is a quick walk, but you’re not dealing with the constant noise of beachfront traffic. You know what I mean — sometimes you want to hear the waves, not the tour buses.

Inside Story

The whole place has this carefully curated feel that you only get with boutique properties. Each room feels different, not like they ordered everything from the same hotel furniture catalog. I stayed in one with these beautiful local touches — artwork that actually means something to the area, not generic hotel prints. The attention to detail is what sets Abraham Eilat apart, and you notice it in small things like the lighting choices and how they’ve arranged the spaces.

Food and Social Spaces

The restaurant area becomes this natural gathering spot where you end up chatting with other travelers without it feeling forced. They serve food that reflects the local scene rather than playing it safe with international bland. Breakfast isn’t just a buffet line — it’s more like someone actually thought about what would taste good and represent the region well.

Why Guests Love It

Here’s the thing about Abraham Eilat — it attracts people who want something authentic without sacrificing comfort. The 8.1 rating makes sense because it delivers on the boutique promise without the pretension. You’re not paying for marble lobbies or gold fixtures; you’re paying for thoughtful hospitality and a genuine connection to Eilat that goes deeper than just being another tourist. It’s the kind of place where the staff remembers your name and actually cares whether you’re enjoying your stay, not just processing you through their system.

Eilat’s hotels pamper sunseekers with hammam suites, family clubs, and concierge desks plotting Sinai panoramas.

Well worth the stay.

Great value for money, location and food. There were a lot of people but they all fitted in.

What could be improved: It was a bit noisy sometimes, but it was a holiday season and it was full.

Very enjoyable stay

We enjoyed our stay - very close to everything, clean, pleasant

What could be improved: The breakfast was very basic but adequate for us. Would have liked more choice of eggs, not just hard-boiled.

I loved the whole atmosphere of Abraham Hostel Eilat and hope to stay there again to go to Petra.

It has been one of my favourite hostels.. First it was close to the bus station and easy to find with its characteristic exterior. I loved the art work inside with mini pep talks. Staff were great for the most part, thumbs up to new member Ezzie with whom I had some enlightening conversations. The kitchen was great. Breakfast was delightful with heaps of choices, the cook even gave me some raw eggs to make pancakes for lunch. The dorms were great, a good size, clean, a locker under the beds and an amazing view of the city, Jordanian Highlands and Al'Aqabah from the little balcony.

What could be improved: One staff member threw out my freshly bought fridge food coz she didn't see my name written on it; I didn't know there were stickers for the job. One of my roommates, I suppose, wrenched off a padlock I had on my backpack when I wasn't there, though nothing was stolen. Hostel staff gave me a new padlock for free. But don't leave your passport or shekels in the dorm rooms. The kitchen could use some more cooking utensils and larger soup/cereal bowls, and I was disappointed the pool was closed as the weather was quite warm, despite it being December. I was in summer tops every day.
